Privacy policy

1. Information processed

The app stores language, settings and feedback on your device. Installation identifiers, device keys and access expiry provision connections. Accounts store email, password hashes and sign-in sessions on our server.

2. Connections and IP addresses

When VPN is on, traffic passes through your selected server. The app uses api.ipify.org to check the public IP. After disconnection, the current network IP is sent to ipwho.is to estimate country and city; this feature does not obtain GPS location.

3. Supporting services

SendGrid delivers verification and password-reset email. AZ VPN uses Google AdMob advertising. Where required, Google’s consent form collects your advertising privacy choices before ads are requested. You can revisit available choices in Privacy & terms. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP addresses (including approximate location), app interactions, diagnostic information and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. SDK data is encrypted in transit. You can manage your advertising ID in Android settings. See Google's privacy policy. Feedback is shared through another app only when you choose to share it.

Unity Ads mediation

Versions that include Unity Ads may obtain interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob mediation. Unity may process device and installation identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions, purchase information and diagnostic data to deliver and measure advertising, operate its services and prevent fraud. We configure Unity to opt out of personalized advertising and use the existing advertising privacy choices where required. We do not provide Unity with your email, browsing history or VPN traffic content. See Unity privacy policy for its data practices and privacy rights.

Optional usage analytics

From version 0.72.0, AZ VPN uses Google Analytics for Firebase only after you allow usage analytics. Google processes app usage and in-app purchase data, device information, an installation identifier and approximate location to help us understand and improve the app. From version 0.73.0, an updated choice also permits sharing app opens (first_open), purchases (in_app_purchase) and ad impressions (ad_impression) with Google Ads for conversion measurement. Previous analytics permission alone does not enable this sharing. We do not send your email, browsing history or VPN traffic content to Analytics. Advertising ID collection and personalized advertising signals are disabled for Analytics. You can decline without losing VPN access, or change your choice under Privacy & terms > Your privacy choices. Turning it off stops future collection and resets the local Analytics identifier; it does not automatically erase reports already processed by Google. See Google privacy policy.

Google Play purchases

Google Play processes payments. AZ VPN verifies purchase tokens and stores them encrypted with an obfuscated account identifier, subscription plan, status and expiry to provide Premium, restore purchases and prevent fraud. AZ VPN does not receive payment card numbers. These records are held while your account exists and are removed from our active account database when account deletion completes. Google may retain its own transaction records under its policies.

4. Managing and deleting accounts

Request account deletion in My account or at azvpn.me/delete-account.html. Requests are verified by email. Successful deletion removes your account, sign-in sessions, device connections and AZ VPN purchase-verification records. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it in Google Play separately. Local app settings can be removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling.
